# Community

> Compare the health of every community side by side — membership, activity, role composition — and drill into any community for its full trend history.

The **Communities** page is a comparative view: instead of one network-wide number, you see how each community contributes to growth and engagement, and can drill into any of them for detail.

<Note>
  Widget data is limited to the communities assigned to your account. Use **View community access** in the page banner to see which communities you can analyze.

## Key metrics

| Metric | What it tells you |
| -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Total communities** | Communities that exist in your network. |
| **Active communities** | Communities with at least some activity in the period. |
| **New community joins** | Membership joins across all communities in the period. |
| **Avg active member rate** | Average share of members who were active, across communities. |

## Role composition over time

A stacked trend chart showing who is generating activity — **Member**, **Moderator**, **Brand user**, **Admin**, and **Others** — with toggles for each role and a **Percentage / Number** switch. Use the percentage view to check community health at a glance: engagement should be increasingly member-driven over time, not dependent on admins and brand accounts.

## All communities table

A sortable table with one row per community:

* **Total members**, **Net new members**, **Members joined**, **Members left** — membership movement.
* **Active members** and **Active member rate** — how much of the community actually participates.
* **Posts**, **Comments**, **Reactions** — activity volume.
* **Post engagement rate** — engagement relative to audience, the fairest way to compare small and large communities.

Sort by any column to rank communities, and page through your full list.

<Tip>
  A community with high **Members joined** but a low **Active member rate** is acquiring members it can't activate — a prompt to review its onboarding, content cadence, or moderation. High **Members left** alongside falling engagement is an early churn warning.
</Tip>

## Comparing communities

Use the checkbox on each row to select communities, then select **Compare** in the bar that appears at the bottom of the table.

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/social-b97141fb/eoBe-KMey5g2F6Hs/images/analytics-and-moderation/dashboard-new/community-compare.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=eoBe-KMey5g2F6Hs&q=85&s=02e4e59775739aff5922c6160e657bdf" alt="All communities table with two communities selected and a floating bar showing the selection count and a Compare button" width="1280" height="720" data-path="images/analytics-and-moderation/dashboard-new/community-compare.png" />

The comparison view lists the selected communities side by side — each assigned its own color — and charts their performance against each other across five metrics:

| Metric             | Definition                                                                                |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Members** | Total members in each community. |
| **Active members** | Members who performed at least one action inside the community in the selected timeframe. |
| **Posts** | Posts published in these communities. |
| **Comments** | Comments on posts in these communities. |
| **Reactions** | Reactions on posts in these communities. |

The comparison has its own date-range picker, so you can adjust the window independently of the main page, and **Clear all** resets the selection.

<Tip>
  Compare a thriving community against one that's stalling to see where their trend lines diverge — a drop in active members that precedes a drop in posts usually points to a content or moderation problem rather than an acquisition one.
</Tip>

## Community drill-down

Select **View community** on any row to open a detail panel for that community.

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/social-b97141fb/eoBe-KMey5g2F6Hs/images/analytics-and-moderation/dashboard-new/community-detail.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=eoBe-KMey5g2F6Hs&q=85&s=0e6c5c95daff1ed579ff89b725e6aa69" alt="Community detail panel showing per-community KPIs and trend charts for members, active members, posts, comments, and reactions" width="1600" height="1000" data-path="images/analytics-and-moderation/dashboard-new/community-detail.png" />

The panel shows the community's KPIs for the selected period — members, net new members, active members, post engagement rate, posts, comments, reactions, joins and leaves — plus **Trends**: individual time-series charts for members, active members, posts, comments, and reactions, so you can see exactly when a community's trajectory changed.

## Filtering and export

The page header offers the same controls as the rest of the dashboard: a date-range picker with presets, a **Filter** panel to scope the page, and an **Export** menu to download widget data as CSV.
