# Your first-party data

> Every interaction your app powers is data you own — the foundation everything in the AI tab builds on.

First-party data is the engagement your own app generates: every post, comment, and reaction happens on infrastructure you run, under your brand, with your users' consent to you — not to a platform in between. That makes it yours in the way that matters: you decide who can see it, question it, and build on it.

That's the difference between owning an audience and renting one. On social networks and ad platforms, your community's activity belongs to the platform — you see it through their windows, on their terms, and the signal you can take with you shrinks every year as third-party cookies and tracking identifiers disappear. Engagement that runs on social.plus works the other way around: the community lives in your app, so the data it generates accrues to you.

## What your app generates

Every social.plus feature produces first-party signal as a side effect of people using it:

| Interaction | The signal you own |
| ----------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Posts and stories | What your users create, where, and how often |
| Comments and replies | Where conversation actually happens |
| Reactions | What resonates, at the lightest level of effort |
| Community membership | Which spaces grow, which go quiet |
| Users and profiles | Who participates, and how participation spreads |
| Events and live streams | What people show up for |

None of this requires instrumentation or a tracking pixel — it's the product working. The moment your community is active, the data exists.

## You stay in control

Ownership means nothing without control, so every path to this data runs through you:

* **Access is granted, never assumed.** [Agentry](/ai/agentry/overview) connections exist only because an administrator issued a connect code or credential, each one is scoped to a single network, and any of them can be revoked without touching the rest — see [Manage access](/ai/agentry/manage-access).
* **Asking is read-only.** AI apps connected through Agentry can question your engagement data; nothing in that path writes, moderates, or administers anything.
* **The data is portable.** It's your data, so you can take it with you — raw, through APIs, not just through dashboards.

## Three ways to put it to work

Agentry answers plain-language questions from your first-party data, in ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI app your team uses.

Owned engagement compounds: the experiences you power create the data, the data powers the answers, and the answers sharpen what you build next.
